Kyung Nam Lee was born June 24, 1934 in Pusan, Korea. After graduating high school, she married Kae Won Lee and started a family.

With four children, she moved with her husband to the United States in 1976, settling in Portland, Oregon. Kyung was attentive to her family, seeing to it that her children had all they required to adjust to their new home. Kyung and her husband would host get-togethers with many families attending. Kyung always welcomed everyone with a warm smile and offer of something delicious to eat.

Kyung worked at a local high-tech company for a while, and later transitioned to helping her husband run a small business, before they both retired and spent many happy years together traveling all over the world.

God called Kyung away peacefully on February 15, 2021 at Maryville Nursing Home where she had been staying. She follows her late husband, whom she was married to for 68 years.

Kyung is survived by her four children, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

She will be remembered fondly by all and missed very much.

I have many fond memories of my grandmother and remember all the good times I had with her while growing up. She was the most selfless person I know, always putting her family’s health and comfort first before hers.
My grandparents used to live a few blocks from my elementary school, so my grandmother would come pick me up after school in her white Cadillac. I would often sleep over at their home and she would teach me how to braid my hair and do my makeup, while cooking countless homemade meals and making sure I ate every grain of rice in my bowl.
She always encouraged me to be the best version of myself, and shaped my life in more ways than I can explain. I miss her every day, but I know she will live in our family’s heart forever.
