Lawrence Joseph Bell

At the time of his death Larry was surrounded by his wife, Dianne, his daughter, sons, grandson and sisters. Beloved friends sat in vigil with the family. His son, David, sang his own compositions and played guitar for his father as others sang familiar hymns while attending to Larry’s comfort.

Larry was born in Portland, Oregon, graduated from the University of Oregon in 1966 then joined the Air Force Following his time in the service Larry pursued his master’s in Urban Studies at Portland State University.

His early career was in accounting and he finished his employment working for the Internal Revenue Service.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Bell, his mother Phyllis Woodyard, stepmother Georgia Bell and sister Kathi Woodyard.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne, daughter Jennifer Bell Custis, and his sons David Bell and Joshua Bell. He is also survived by his grandson, Holdyn Bell and sisters, Becki Crighton, Joanna Keller, Judy Sweeney, and Janice Diaz.

The services will be held at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home on Friday October 28th 2011 at 3:00pm. 11801 SE Mt Scott Blvd Portland OR 97086
