August 4, 1939 – May 17, 2025
With deep sorrow and enduring love, we announce the passing of Linda Dianne McBride on May 17, 2025. She was active, healthy, and proud so her death was unexpected. She fought hard until the very end. Linda suddenly and peacefully passed surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and devotion.
Linda was born on August 4, 1939, in California, and later settled in Portland, Oregon during her teenage years. There, she attended Girls Polytechnic High School, where she made many fond memories — particularly as a spirited member of the rally squad, as editor of her school newspaper, and as a proud member of the Rose Festival Court. She later pursued her studies at Portland State University, nurturing a love of learning and community involvement.
She was the beloved wife of Richard, the true love of her life, and together they built not only a life, but a legacy. Linda played an instrumental role in founding and managing what would become a thriving family architecture business, applying her marketing and management talents and dedication to its long-term success.
Linda was a devoted mother to four daughters, a cherished grandmother to seven grandchildren, and a doting great-grandmother to three. She loved her family fiercely and unconditionally, and each of us felt the special way she made us feel seen, valued, and deeply loved.
Holidays and family gatherings were magical under her touch. Linda had a remarkable gift for creating beauty and joy in every celebration — bringing out her finest china, silverware, and linens, and filling her home with laughter, warmth, and grace. She was the ultimate hostess.
Her absence will be felt in every corner of our lives — in the daily moments, the holidays, and the milestones still to come. She was the heart of our family, a steady source of strength and joy. We will miss her radiant smile, her voice, and her boundless energy.
Though she is no longer with us, Linda’s love and legacy live on in all of us. Her memory will forever be a guiding light.
Rest in peace, our Lovely Linda.
You are deeply missed and forever cherished.
