Lois Evelyn Myers, 87, a resident of the Portland community was born on November 8, 1923 in Norton, Kansas to Wilmert Bailey and Eliza E. (Page) Webster. She moved to Portland, Oregon with her family in 1933. She received her GED. Lois attended Beauty School and worked as a beautician for a short time.
Lois was united in marriage to Stanley O. Myers on May 10, 1941 in Portland. Lois and Stanley owned Stan Myers Sanitary Service for over 20 years and Lois was the bookkeeper. They had three children and celebrated sixty eight years of life together before he preceded her in death in April of 2010.
Among her personal interests she enjoyed doing embroidery, sewing and crafts. She liked to go fishing and hunting with Stan. Lois taught herself how to cook “Gluten Free” before it became popular. She liked spending time outside and working in her garden. Her favorite accomplishment was being a homemaker, mother and grandmother. She spent most of her time with her family.
Lois was a member of the Apostolic Faith Church in Portland, Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Elaine who passed away at seven months, as well as eleven of her brothers and sisters
Survivors include her son, Blaine Myers and wife, Dixie, of Battleground, Washington, daughter, Norma Santesson and husband, Darrel, of Vancouver, Washington, her brothers; Orville and Eugene Page, and sister, Vernie Akiyama all of Portland.
Also surviving are grandson, Mark Santesson and wife, Lisa of Vancouver, Washington, granddaughter, Kelly Monk and husband, Stan, of Portland, great-grandchildren; Richard and Tracy Monk, Jacob and Joshua Santesson.
