Louell moved to Portland, Oregon with his first wife, Brenda Bridges-Motley in 1962. To that union, 5 children were born. Debra, Darryl, Demetria, Donnell and Deronda Motley. He also had a son, Darryl Motley who played Pro- Baseball for the Kansas City Royals and was the one to hit the grand slam home run to win the World Series in 1985 which was very exciting for Louell which made him the proud father of all times.
Several years later, Louell met and married his second wife, Anita Travis-Motley in July of 2003 after a 17 year friendship. There were no children born to this union. And as of this year, 2015, they would have celebrated 30 years of being together.
