Lou Paff was born in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, on August 8, 1940. When he was a small child his family moved to Minneapolis, where he grew up. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1965 and joined the Peace Corps, serving in Liberia, West Africa, for two years.
After finishing his Peace Corps service he began his teaching career, first in Philadelphia, then Hawaii, and finally at Oregon Episcopal School in Portland, where he taught until his retirement.
He enjoyed playing and building pipe organs, singing in choral groups, and spending quiet weekends at his cabin on the Oregon coast.
He was known for his altruism and left a legacy of love to his family and his many friends.
