Maria M. Garcia

Maria M. Garcia was born January 19, 1935 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Marcelino Morales and Petra Silva. She was raised in Mexico with nine siblings. Maria was educated in Mexico then moved to Oregon where she married Jose Garcia in 1992 in Oregon City. The couple raised nine children, Jose Luis Mendoza, Guadalupe Mendoza, Lino Mendoza, Mauro Mendoza (deceased), Cesilia Mendoza, Franco Mendoza, Leticia Mendoza, Alejandro Mendoza, and Elvira Mendoza. They were also blessed with 33 grandchildren.

Maria worked in her home and enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and sewing. She also found great pleasure in playing the "lotteria", listening to music and dancing, and doing crossword puzzles. Of all the things that Maria loved in life, she loved and cherished her family the most.

Though Maria was not recently a member of a specific church, she was a devout Catholic her entire life.

Maria passed away in her home October 28, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. A Catholic funeral service will be held at 1pm, Monday, November 1, 2010 in Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home with interment following in Lincoln Memorial Park. Maria is survived by her loving husband, eight of her children, and seven siblings, Jose, Marcos, Pablo, Carmen, Juana, Maria, and Ventura.
