She met her future husband, Harold Beresford, during the war as she was working in Sacramento at a secret facility.
Marian was extremely instrumental in the military efforts of World War II, being the lead female mechanic on the Norden Bomb Sight, repairing gyroscopes and bomb sights.
Marian was very active in her church, and gave freely of her time and energy in helping others at church, and to other seniors through the Milwaukie Senior Center. She delivered the senior center newsletter for several years to area care facilities, and visited with residents of local care homes. She also volunteered at the Red Cross of Oregon, and was recognized often for her efforts and time given there.
Marian will always be remembered for her quick smile, generous spirit, and her love of a good- and sometimes silly -joke.
Marian is survived by her four children: Michael (Shirley) Beresford, James (Eileen) Beresford, Susan (Stephen Gorman) Venetucci, and Terry (Paula Smith) Beresford. She also had 11 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Please join us in Hope, and Rebirth, and Love, as we celebrate Marian's long, fruitful, and Beautiful Life!
