

Marjorie was born in Portland, Oregon to Lucy and Otto Hoak. She lived most of her life in Portland and was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy. She was married to Conrad J. Mottau, of Lythgoe and Mottau, a wholesale jewelry firm. They spent 48 wonderful years together filled with love and laughter. Marjorie was a joyful person with a warm smile and infectious laugh that everyone adored. Friends, neighbors, parishioners, and family alike loved spending time with her. She didn’t hesitate to be involved in life and many activities. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, travel, camping and many crafts which she shared with those around her. She volunteered many hours at Madeleine Parish and Holy Rosary Parish during her lifetime. In her later years she also volunteered in community activities for Albertina Kerr Centers and the Portland Pearl Rotary Club.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Greg Mottau (Sandi), Leo Mottau (Janice), and Cindy Brown, grandchildren: Beth, Ben, Sara, Eric, Ryan, Jodi, 10 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
A celebration of life, memorial Mass will be held at Holy Rosary Church at 10AM, Monday, August 11, 2014. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Albertina Kerr Centers or Holy Rosary Church.
