Marta Vieru

Marta Vieru, 89, of Portland, Oregon, died January 26th, 2018, suddenly, in the comfort of her own home. She was a few days short of her 90th birthday. The daughter of the late Iordache si Anica Irimia was born on February 1, 1928. She married Vasile Vieru and had two daughters and one son. They were married for 62 years till Vasile went home with the Lord last year. She is survived by her daughters Fivia and Sabina, her son Emanuel, and 5 grandchildren, David, Christina, Anna Marie, Jeremiah and Anna, all living in the Portland area.

She immigrated to the United States with her family in 1985 and lived in the Portland area till her death. She loved reading, gardening, crafts, and most of all, her family.

A devoted Christian, daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother, she left an amazing legacy of love, kindness, wisdom and faith. A mother to many, she didn't simply give her best. She gave her all to her family and loved ones.

Her funeral service will take place at the Romanian Baptist Church, 10115 SE Stanley Avenue in Milwaukie at 7 pm on Wednesday, January 31. She will be buried on Thursday, February 1 at 1 pm at Lincoln Memorial Park, 11801 SE Mt. Scott Blvd. in Portland.
