Martha Lynn Calvert

Martha was born in 1940 in Toledo, Ohio, and grew up in Point Place with her three brothers. She graduated from Waite High School in 1957, then attended the University of Michigan (M Go Blue!). She married Stephen Calvert in 1964 and they had a son, Bruce, and a daughter, Kris, but later divorced. She lived in Toledo while she raised her family and worked as a Medical Transcriber at Toledo Hospital.

Martha was a proud Norwegian. She enjoyed dabbling in the stock market, and loved jazz and classical music. She played the piano as a child and throughout her life, and took up both the violin and cello when she was in her 60's. She also loved dogs, babies, and small children, and her world became a better place in 1993 when granddaughter Emily was born, and then again in 2000 when grandson Isaac was born. Martha retired in 2009 and moved to Portland, Oregon to be near her daughter, son-in-law Steve, and grandson.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Evelyn (Nelson) Eriksen, brothers Donald and Phil, and son Bruce. She is survived by her brother Ken Eriksen, daughter Kris, two grandkids and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed.

There will be a memorial service for her on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at the Lincoln Memorial Park Mausoleum. All ages are welcome. Remembrances can be made to the environmental non-profit of your choice.
