Mary Alice McCusker, 82, of Portland, OR, passed away October 19, 2010 in Portland. She was born in Portland on May 12, 1928 to the late Harold and Elizabeth (Van Hook) Vohs. She graduated from Oregon State University with her Master’s in Education. She taught on the U.S. Army Base in Brumholder, Germany, where she met and married Bernard McCusker in 1954. Mary taught school in several Portland area schools, and retired in 1991 from Jason Lee Elementary.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Lawpaugh & husband Nick, granddaughter, Katie Lawpaugh, and her brother Harold Vohs.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 29, 2010 at 12:00pm at Lincoln Memorial Park, 11801 SE Mount Scott Blvd, Portland. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Oregon Humane Society, P.O. Box 11364, Portland, OR 97211.
