Max Prasad, 85, of Portland, Oregon passed away peacefully on May 25, 2015. He was born in Sawani, Nausori in the Fiji Islands on June 23, 1929 and although he never graduated from high school, he left his legacy as a successful businessman.
In June of 1960, he married his beautiful wife Fawzia and together they had five children. In his earlier years, he travelled as a chef in merchant ships. Later he worked for Fiji Airways before launching his career as a businessman in the cab industry. After selling his business in the early 1990’s he migrated with his family to the United States where he became a chef for the Doubletree Hotel.
He was a charitable man with a loving heart and a passion for spending quality time with his family at the beach.
He is survived by his wife Fawzia and sons, Robin, Alvin, and Ron; daughters, Maureen and Laureen; grandchildren, Niki, Neill, Sheena, Selena, Kaley, Cora, Chrystal and Natalie; great-grandchildren, Sitara and Dreco; six sisters and four brothers.
