Maybelle was born in Bellingham, Wash., to Emma and Charles Peterson, the 8th of 11 children. She was the first in her family to graduate from high school. Maybelle and five of her sisters worked for the telephone company in Bellingham. On Oct. 22, 1949, she married Frank Heinrich. They had three children and lived in North Portland. She loved cooking and having family and friends over. House guests were always welcome. She hosted many family reunions and pinnacle and bridge parties. We'll always remember her chocolate chip cookies, banana bread and pot roast dinner on Sundays. She spoiled her grandchildren. The phrase 'shop 'til you drop' fit her to a tee. Maybelle is survived by her son, Don (Diane) of Detroit Lakes, Minn.; daughters, Karen (Fred) of West Linn and Nancy Heinrich of Tigard, Ore.; granddaughters, Lori (James) Warner of Oregon City, Julie (Dave) Peterson of Cornelius and Sarah Heinrich of Minneapolis; great-grandchildren, Dustin and Emily Peterson and Gavin Warner; sister, Mary Jo Alvord of Lawrenceville, Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; three brothers; and six sisters. Maybelle taught us the art of caring, loving and being kind to others. She always put everyone else before herself. Heaven has a new angel to watch over us. She will be truly missed. Services for Maybelle will be held on Tuesday, December 2nd, at 12:00 p.m. at Finley-Sunset Hills Memorial Park and Mortuary.
