On May 18, 1920 parents, Erma Rice and McKinley Williams Sr., welcomed their first son, McKinley Webster Williams into the world. McKinley grew up in Texarkana, Texas and graduated from Dunbar High School. After completing high school he worked in a Lumber Mill before being drafted into the United States Army. During World War II, he honorably served in both Europe and the South Pacific; earning a rifle sharpshooter award for his prowess with the rifle. During this time he met the love of his life, Jacqueline, at a USO dance. Their chemistry was instantaneous and they were married on August 19, 1944 in Kansas City, Kansas. After the war, he began his career with the Union Pacific Railroad, working as a porter for many years. In 1980 he retired from the railroad after 36 years of service. After retirement, McKinley decided to get into the taxi cab business, owning and driving a cab for eleven years. McKinley was easy to get along with and so it came as no surprise when he was elected as the President of the Broadway Cab Company. In his free time, McKinley enjoyed fishing, bowling and golf. His wife, children and family meant the world to him and he will be remembered by everyone for his kindness, honesty and loyalty.
He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Jacqueline; his son, Royce Williams; his son, McKinley Timothy Williams and his daughter-in-law, Tina Williams; his son, Gary Williams and daughter, Joycelyn Williams; his grandson, Troy McKinley Williams; his granddaughter, Squrice Williams; and many loving nieces and nephews.
