Millie Hatfield was born January 30, 1934, in Ontario, Oregon to Jacob and Jesse Zittercob, and passed away peacefully on December 25, 2013 from complications related to ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). Millie grew up with a love for music and flowers. Following her graduation from Ashland High School, she spent several years enjoying accordion and organ lessons. When Millie was 28 she met and married John Hatfield. Some years later she took her knack for math and numbers and spent most of her adult life as a bookkeeper for Ace Electric and later for Lloyd Powell Inc. before entering a career as a Relator for Century 21 Wright-Christie in Beaverton. Following the death of her husband in 1998, Millie met and has resided with her companion, Sam Gilman, at their home in St. Augustine, Florida. Millie was known for her love of gardening and dancing. Millie is survived by her daughter, Penny Stady and husband, John of Beaverton Oregon; her daughter Tracy Brown and husband, Evan of Vancouver, Washington; and grandchildren Lauren and Jenna Stady, Kevin and wife Ariel, and Kayla Goss. A small graveside memorial will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2014, at Skyline Memorial Gardens, 4101 NW Skyline Blvd. Portland, OR 97229.
