Mildred married Gordon Ritter August 25, 1933. They raised five daughters, Ruth Slayton, Patricia Dykstra, Leah Gatewood, Nancy Gould, and Delores Lahtinen.
Mildred and Gordon moved the family from Michigan to Cottage Grove, Oregon in the early 1950s.
As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mildred’s Christian faith and family was the central part of her life. She faithfully attended meetings at The Kingdom hall, was active in the ministry, and enjoyed reading the Bible because of her Love for Jehovah, his son Christ Jesus, and the wisdom and hope it provides.
