Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Genevieve. Married in September of 1947, they are parents to Linda Yarco Shea, and Kenneth and Gary Yarco. They are grandparents to Kathleen Shea Clemons, Monica, Karen and Brian Shea, and great grandparents to Gabrial and Orly Clemons. Paul loved his siblings and was preceded in death by sister Mary, brother Ed, and is survived by brother Bob.
Paul was a simple man with less than a high school education, who was able to overcome many hurdles to provide for a family and build a life. As a younger man, he rode the trains in search of work, and served in many capacities until he found his career role with the Ironworkers Local 29 in Portland, Oregon. He was an incredibly hard worker, never complained, was strong and truly enjoyed the work that he did. In later years, he loved pointing out the buildings and structures that he worked on, and had a deep affection for the work of the union.
Paul enjoyed gardening, playing pinochle (he never met a bid he didn't want to take), cooking Thanksgiving turkey, and enjoying a beer or whiskey with friends and family. Paul lived his life with humility and integrity. He loved to observe conversations and often added in his wit to make a playful dig at others. He is often described as kind, quiet, and exceedingly loyal.
A Catholic Mass will be held on Friday, March 19th at Resurrection Parish, Tualatin, OR at 11:00a, and he will be interred directly following the service at Lincoln Memorial in the family plot with Agnes. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to www.catholiccharitiesusa.org
