Phuc Thi Dao

December 25, 1936 – December 17, 2025

Mrs. Phuc Thi Dao was born in Ha Noi, North Vietnam on December 25, 1936, to Luc Trung Dao and Lai Thi Ngo. She passed away on December 17, 2025, at age 88, surrounded by the love of her family. A devoted mother and a woman of remarkable strength, Mrs. Dao lived a life defined by sacrifice, faith, and generosity.

A widow since the passing of her beloved husband, Quang Doan, in 1986, Mrs. Dao poured her heart into raising their children. Her resilience and unwavering determination guided her family through immense hardship. With courage and -compassion, she helped countless relatives escape Vietnam during the late 1970s through the mid-1980s, offering them the opportunity for a new beginning and a brighter future in the United States of America.

Her deep faith and steadfast trust in God sustained her throughout the challenges of her life. She was known for her extraordinary capacity for forgiveness, even toward those who had wronged her—an example that deeply inspired everyone who knew her. She taught her children the importance of generosity, humility, and giving without expectation. Though she lived simply, often choosing the most modest meals, she did so joyfully so she could save and give to those in need.

Mrs. Dao passed away at Maryville Nursing Home and is survived by her children, Ann Uong, Bauman Doan, Henry Doan, Tina Doan, Sr. Julie Doan, SSMO, Tung Doan, Tony Doan, Linh Doan-Pham, and Tram Doan; fifteen grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Her legacy of love, faith, and selflessness will continue to live on through her family and the many lives she touched.
