October 11th, 2012, Gresham, Oregon
Ranelle Alice Henni was born to parents Karl and Georgia (Heller) Henni in Anacortes, Washington on August 28th, 1948. She was raised on Whidbey Island, Washington along with nine other siblings. The family lived on and operated a small chicken farm on the Northern (Oak Harbor) side of the Island. Ranelle graduated from Oak Harbor High School. Following high school, Ranelle attended business school for one year in Seattle, Wa, and it was in Seattle that she met Charles Lemmon. Ranelle and Charles exchanged wedding vows in a Navy Chapel in Bremerton Washington in 1969. Following Charles’ honorable discharge from the U.S. Marine Corps, the two settled in Gresham, Oregon in 1971 and began a new chapter in their lives together. They had one child, a son, John. It was Ranelle and Charles’ greatest joy in their lives to be loving parents to John and to grow as a young family.
Ranelle was not only a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker; she worked outside the home as well. Most recently, for the last 17 years, Ranelle was employed as a general office worker by Duck Delivery, a produce company that serves many businesses, schools, and grocery stores in the Pacific Northwest. She will be remembered by her associates as a beloved co-worker, a devoted employee, and hard worker, and a good friend.
Ranelle and Charles enjoyed travel, camping, fishing, and anything that involved just doing things together and being with one another. Ranelle’s favorite thing was just spending quality time with her family and friend
Ranelle passed away in her home in Gresham, Oregon on Thursday, October 11th following a brief and courageous battle with cancer. She was a beloved wife; mother; daughter; sister; aunt; and friend and she will be dearly missed.
