Robert Harold “Chip” Tracy was born 28 August 1951 to H.Clair Tracy and Inez Andrus Tracy in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Growing up in Portland, Oregon, he graduated from Roosevelt High School. His mother passed away when he was just 14 years and his father married Panzy Lamb, whom he grew to love as well. His every summer was filled by working on his uncle’s farm in Idaho, where he learned the value of hard work. He served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Washington, D.C. area.
In 1974, he met and married his sweetheart Marcia “Marcy” Walton in the Idaho Falls Temple. They were married 48 years. Completing an apprenticeship, he became a Journeyman Ironworker. He worked on multiple projects in Oregon and Washington. His hobbies included singing, fast pitch softball, trumpet, Church service, and his family.
He is survived by his wife, six children; Andrea Bowles, Brian Tracy, Kirk Tracy, Tera O’Neill, Garrett Tracy, and Tegan Hoover; and twenty-three grandchildren.
