

Rose was born on June 17, 1931 at the family home in Paris, Texas. Her parents were Brisco & Charlie Morgan. Rose was raised in Texas. Even as a youngster, Rose learned to be objective and decisive. Her faith in the principles of authority and dependability was something that she carried with her throughout her life.
As a young girl, Rose was able to put her natural abilities to work. She was a bit like the sergeant of the family, helping to make sure that the others did what they should do and that they avoided those things they weren’t supposed Rose was raised with nine siblings, eight sisters and one brother: Ervie, Brisco Jr. , Margie, Lillian, Helen, Dorothy, Gracie, Doris, and Mildred.
In school, Rose was as close to being a model student as one could possibly imagine. She sought to achieve perfect attendance in all of her classes. She graduated from Fred Douglas High School in Sherman, Texas in 1949. She enjoyed some courses more than others but she was a good student and graduated with honors.
Rose was sociable and approachable. Because she was always so straightforward in how she approached relationships, friends and family knew that what they saw was always what they got. She enjoyed the camaraderie of being with a group of friends. Later in life, she had an extensive church family that she was close with.
Rose was ever watchful of her only daughter, Gloria. She worried about her and was deeply concerned for her development as she grew up. She maintained a firm hand in her upbringing. She had the ability to enforce the rules as needed to ensure that her daughter was properly raised. Rose was also blessed with four grandchildren, Shakiyla, Zach, Chaunzel, & Marty. Rose was very active with in raising her grandchildren into the adults they are today.
Faith was important to Rose. She held high moral standards and was worried about the moral decay she saw around her. For that reason she held deep spiritual beliefs that she was willing to share. She accepted Christ in her life at an early age. Later in her life she furthered her love of God by becoming a missionary evangelist with the Church of God In Christ.
Rose passed away on August 20, 2010 at San Joaquin Community Hospital in Bakersfield, California after fighting a brave battle against cancer. She leaves to mourn her passing her sisters Ervie E. Patterson of Redwood City , CA, Margi Burkes of Portland, OR, Lillian Brewster of Portland, OR, Helen Hall of Dallas, TX, Gracie Kennedy of Seattle WA, Doris Morgan of Seattle, WA and Mildred James of Vancouver, WA. Her Grandchildren Shakiyla Bryant of Bakersfield, CA, Chuanzel Stewart of Bakersfield, CA, Zachary Pettitof Los Angeles, CAand Marty Durkins of Baton Rouge, LA. She is predeceased by her parents, Brisco and Charlie Morgan, her only daughter Gloria, her brother Brisco Morgan Jr. and her sister Dorothy Perry.
All who knew her would agree that Rose was a pillar of the community. She lived her life with her feet firmly on the ground. She had a strong work ethic, and constantly sought the means for self-improvement. She was willing to share her ideas and knowledge for the benefit of others. Rozel E. Morgan did her best to ensure that her family, friends, loved ones,, and everyone whose life she touched was given the chance to become a better person.
