Ruby Elizabeth Peacock Stephenson

Ruby E. Peacock came to Portland in 1936 from Cassville. She became Ruby Stephenson when she and David Stephenson married March 16, 1941. The Stephenson family had seven children. Both families moved from Missouri to Portland. David and Ruby were married 56 wonderful years and had three children: Don, Karen and Dale. Their grandchildren are: Linda, Heather, Matthew and Paul. The family continued to grow with seven great-grandchildren: Andrew, Melissa, David, Jacob, Haley, Deseree and Michael.

Ruby worked in production and David in transportation until retirement. They enjoyed 30 years of retirement between Quartzsite, Ariz., and Portland. They were active members of Good Sam mid-weekers camping groups. David passed away in 1997.

Ruby is survived by her children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Edith and Millie. She will be forever loved, missed by many and in our hearts always.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, in Mill Park Baptist Church, Southeast 117th Avenue and Market Street in Portland. Remembrances may be made in her honor to Adventist Hospice.
