

Ruth I. Fosmark, 94, longtime resident of the Hillsboro area passed away on February 2, 2013 in Beaverton, Oregon. A memorial service will be held on Friday 8, 2013 in Skyline Memorial Gardens Chapel at 11:00 am with a reception to follow at 12:00 noon for family and friends.
Ruth was born in Hubbard, Oregon on November 19, 1918 as Ruth Iris Jungnickel to parents William F. Jungnickel and Ethel Hatcher Jungnickel. Through her school years, she was raised by her grandmother in Hubbard and graduated from Hubbard High School in 1937 as the valedictorian of her class. She later took business machines college classes in Portland and worked several years in an insurance office in Donald, Oregon that specialized in coverage for hops growers.
Ruth married Lloyd Fosmark in 1945 and the two began their family in Portland. In 1953 they bought property south of Hillsboro where they raised their family. Lloyd Fosmark passed away in 1985 and Ruth continued to own the property until 2011. They raised seven boys: Stephen (deceased), Daniel. Marlin, Roger, Gordon, Jonathan & Raymond. Ruth worked at the Washington County Court House from the early 1960's until her retirement.
Ruth enjoyed flower gardening on her property and traveling as she had opportunity. She did many different kinds of needle work as well as oil painting. Ruth played piano and organ and was willing to serve in her church for as long as she was able.
She is survived by her first son Stephen's wife, Carol, Daniel (Debby), Marlin (Gemma), Roger (Laurie), Gordon (Debbie), Jonathan, and Raymond; 13 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
