Shirley Jean McGee

Shirley Jean McGee went to be with Jesus on March 1, 2025, in her home in West Linn, Oregon, surrounded by her loving family. She was 83 years old.

Shirley’s proudest accomplishment was her family—her 64-year marriage to Bert, her children, Darryl and Christy, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. She established and upheld cherished family traditions, always intentionally keeping her loved ones close.

Her deep devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ shaped every part of her life. She ministered to others with grace and love, leading a Christian Women’s Club chapter for many years and serving faithfully on a prayer team. She hosted over 30 ten-week Alpha Classes alongside her husband, helping others find and grow in their faith.

A gifted artist, Shirley was known for her breathtaking seascapes and skill as an oil painter and decorator. Her appreciation for beauty extended to nature, her love for animals and the wonder of creation.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband, Bert; her son, Darryl, and his wife, Joyce; her daughter, Christy; her five grandchildren, Nick, Chloe, Zarek, Spencer, and Joshua; and her four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Bessie Willis, and her brothers, Bobby Dean and Frank.

Shirley’s love, faith, and legacy of devotion will live on in the hearts of all blessed to know her.

A graveside service for Shirley will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 2pm at Finley Sunset Hills Mortuary, 6801 SW Sunset Hwy, Portland OR 97225.
