Born on March 1, 1944, in Bremerhaven, Germany, Sigrid immigrated with her family to New York in 1950. She was a gifted student and graduated from Hunter College High School and Queens College. While at Queens College, she met her husband, Mohammad Namdar. They married in 1965 and raised two sons, Frank and David. The family moved to Oregon in 1974.
In New York, Sigrid worked as a social worker. In Oregon, she worked for many years for the Beaverton School District in various roles and retired in 2003.
Sigrid loved horses, her dogs, walks, good books, and a glass of wine. She will be remembered as kind, intelligent, loving, independent, and generous.
Sigrid is survived by sons Frank and David, daughters-in-law Lisa and Stacy and grandchildren Lauren, Austin, Grayson, Sydney and Natalie and Sigrid’s loving dog, Abby. Sigrid was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
She was loved and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
A private family service will be held on March 6, 2026.
