Stanley Taft Reynolds was born in Louisiana on January 27th, 1935, to parents Taft and Mary (Schmidt) Reynolds.
When he was High School age, he left Louisiana and headed for Texas with his uncle and together they worked on a barge.
Following his brief time in Texas, Stanley moved to Vernonia, Oregon where he met Bonnie. They exchanged wedding vows in 1952. He was 17, Bonnie was 15. In 1955, daughter Debora was born. In 1960, daughter Kimberly was born.
In 1968, the family moved from the Vernonia area to Tigard, and there they built a home. Stanley's lifelong career was as an auto mechanic. He served in various shops and organizations ; the longest service being for Bill Olinger Lincoln Mercury.
Stanley will be remembered as a humble, genuine, "people person" and just an "all around good guy". He truly enjoyed visiting with family, friends, neighbors, and strangers alike. He always had a joke to tell or a funny anecdote to share. He had many interests and was always willing to learn and do new things. Stanley also will be remembered as a "collector of everything" and gathered many various special treasures and items over the years. He will be most remembered for his devotion to Bonnie, his wife of 54 years, and the genuine love that he showed for all in his family.
Stanley is survived by his wife, Bonnie; daughters Debora (John) Seaver and Kimberly Riley; granddaughters, April Beres (Dan), and Danielle Riley; grandsons, Brandon Seaver, Ryan (Deenie) Riley, and Garrette Riley; great granddaughters, Keelie Shay Beres, Taylor Riley, Hana Riley; great grandsons, Michael Seaver, Kaden Riley, and Kyren Riley; a step sister, Joanne; and a step-brother, Glen Schmidt.
A crypt-side ceremony and reception will take place In Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland, Oregon on Thursday, May 26th, 2011, at 1130am.
