Sue Young Wright

Sue Young Wright passed away peacefully July 27th, 2024, at The Cottages Senior Living, after a long battle with dementia. She was nearly 78 years old. Born August 5th, 1946, Sue lived many lives with stories to accompany her experiences.

From her early childhood days of living through a war, to picking peaches with her cousins in the South Korean countryside, to throwing dinners and parties as an Army officer’s wife, she lived her life with love for her family and her friends. She is survived by her daughter Jenny Wright and former spouse Jim Wright.

Sue was a smart, strong woman, who cared for the wellbeing of her family and her friends. She embraced the lighter side of life with smiles and laughter, and the harder moments with strength, determination, and her unwavering faith in God.

Memories of Sue will endure in the hearts of those who were blessed to have known and loved her. If she were with us today, Sue might offer the same wisdom she gave her daughter when times were hard: “Keep up your courage.”

A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church at 2310 SE 148th Ave #2735, Portland, OR 97233 on Friday, August 16th, 2024 at 1:30 pm.

A burial will proceed at Lincoln Memorial Park at 11801 SE Mt Scott Blvd, Portland, OR 97086 at 3:00 pm. We request those who are attending the burial to gather at Lincoln Memorial Home by 2:45 pm in order to be led to the gravesite by vehicular procession. A Reception will follow at Super King Buffet at 5015 SE 82nd Ave, Portland, OR 97266.
