

Teddy Oscar Goff, 85, passed away peacefully of natural causes on February 10, 2025, in Condon, Oregon. Born on December 12, 1939, in Lynchburg, Virginia, Teddy lived a life guided by faith, dedication, and love for family and friends.
Teddy grew up in Portland, Oregon, and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1958. He later attended Judson Baptist College in The Dalles, Oregon. Teddy built a successful career as a salesman with Montgomery Wards and Parr Lumber in North Portland before retiring.
A proud veteran, Teddy served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. His military service instilled a deep sense of discipline and commitment that remained with him throughout life.
Teddy was at a friend’s house looking out the window, when he saw for the first time the love of his life Ardis Martz walking down the street. Before long they were married and spent the next 55 years doing life together.
Faith was central to Teddy’s journey. As a longtime member of First Baptist Church of St. Johns, he served as both a Deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years. Teaching the Bible was one of his greatest passions, bringing him immense joy as he shared his knowledge and faith with others.
Beyond his professional and spiritual commitments, Teddy had a deep love for sports—both playing and watching—and treasured time spent with family, especially his grandchildren. His sense of humor was legendary; he had an incredible ability to bring laughter to any room and brighten the lives of those around them.
Teddy was a loving sibling to Mary Grace Novick and a caring parent to Mark & Tanna Hiatt, Ted & Michelle Goff and Becky & Tracey. His legacy continues through their grandchildren—Alex, Jordan, Natalie, Sariah, Heidi, Brent, Levi, Jayden, Amanda, and Luke—as well as five great-grandchildren who will carry forward the warmth and wisdom they shared so generously. He also had many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Joe & Julie, Billy, Lynn & Ginny, Cathy, Andrea & Joe, Kendal, Stephen and Jodi.
A dedicated friend as well as a beloved family member, Teddy maintained lifelong friendships with childhood classmates Archie and Diane Jamieson—a testament to their loyalty and kindness.
Teddy was preceded in death by his wife Ardis Goff and parents Nathan and Audrey Goff; brother Nate Goff; and sisters Audrey May, Millie Pearl, and Nora Ann.
Teddy’s presence brought joy to all who knew him. His memory will live on through the love he shared and the laughter he inspired.
