Terri adored life, loved people no matter their flaws, judged little, had an infectious smile and laugh, laughed plenty, was a great Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, and will be remembered exactly that way by all that knew her. Terri passed November 9th, 2017 with many family, and close friends surrounding her within minutes, at Providence St. Vincents Hospital, Portland, Oregon after a long battle with illness(s) that she finally succumbed too. Peaceful and without pain.
Born and raised in High Point, North Carolina to parents Joe Primus Sr. and Odessa (Quick) Primus, the oldest child, to sisters Ruby (Primus) Weight, Sharon (Primus) Davis, and brothers Joe Primus (Geraldine wife), and Ricky Primus (deceased). Terri aka Maggie, graduated William Penn High School in High Point and later in California Foothill Jr. College. Many work friends and associates were developed and respect attained from all whether it be early in High Point as a telephone switchboard operator at the local telephone company or as a worker at the local Sloan Corp. mfg. socks, as well as later in the California Silicon Valley as a Buyer, Planner, and onto Program Mgmt./Buying for LSI Sierra Div., FL Jennings, Tannon, CFI, Solectron Mfg., and or Flextronix Mfg. Corps, with the last few years on temporary assignment for startups in Electronics Buying before retiring to the greater Portland, Oregon area (Beaverton) to live near family wanting Mom/G Ma closer. Terri was at least eighteen years in High Point, NC., a year in Baltimore Maryland etching out her early life before venturing to what would be nearly 45 years in California, primarily in San Jose, Sunnyvale, Union City, Fremont, and Newark working and living life at it's fullest followed by over four years in Oregon, always making new friends.
In 1973 Terri met and later in 1975 officially married her life long mate Michael James Kilmer, and Terri Lee Primus became Terri Lee Kilmer and along with daughters of 6 and 5 years of age Carol, and Yonette were banded together for over 45 years as family until death do them apart. Now venturing forth without Terri who leads them to the next life leading the way to new challenges. Besides leaving behind many friends, family, and work associates, and past neighbors, as well as an abundance of in laws, nieces, and nephews Terri leaves her husband Michael, daughter Carol Lynette Paxton (husband Will) Ft. Worth Texas, daughter Yonette Ann Fine (husband Kenn) Portland Oregon, and Grandchildren Ken (fiance Edie) Gross No. Richland Texas, twins Michael Szymanski (wife Lizze) Ballstrom Spa, New York, and Joe Szymanski Portland, Oregon, Tiana Szymanski Wichita Falls, Texas, Maya Fine Los Angeles CA., Kai Fine and Teo Fine Portland Oregon.
No matter the challenges faced over the last years much happiness, and great quality of life were achieved. There is not a doubt amongst those close to Terri that a better quality of life and peace without pain, as well as happiness is where Terri now resides, and meeting up with those who passed previously her has happened as she now awaits, where over time those remaining, left behind, can meet up again in time.
The family will host and hold a "Celebration Of Life" gathering for good times to be had, in the near future with dates and times, the when and where, to be determined, in the near future and will post that to this site. A spreading of ashes over winery vineyards will follow shortly thereafter. If you knew Terri for a short time or a long time you know they were positive, peaceful and happy times had as well as loving times. Terri Lee Kilmer will be greatly missed by all. The world was truly a better place for having had Terri as a citizen for the last 67 years. We love you back Terri, Mom, Grandma, Aunt, Sister, Sister in law, friend and work buddy. Go and prosper in your new environment.
