Terry grew up in Washington and was a 1970 graduate of Mountlake Terrace Senior High School. He worked for his parents in the family motel briefly before joining the US Army in June 1971. He served honorably as the crew chief on a helicopter in Vietnam before his discharge in 1972. Terry earned two purple hearts during his time in the military. Upon his return, Terry eventually settled in Portland, where he resided for the rest of his life, the last four decades in a house he had bought and lovingly maintained.
Terry was a detail-oriented and disciplined man. He always remembered special family dates and did not play favorites with his loved ones. Terry had a wonderful, infectious laugh. He enjoyed watching old television shows and going to super hero movies with family and friends.
Terry will be missed and remembered by his loved ones.
There will be no viewing or public services.
In lieu of flowers, the family would be appreciative of a donation in his name, to a charity of the donor’s choice, that works with veterans and veteran families.
