Thelma J Coleman

Thelma Jean Coleman, was called to be with the Lord on February 1, 2013. Thelma was born in Little Rock Arkansas to Louis and Ora Brown. She moved to Portland when she was 9 years old. Thelma attended Elliot Grade School and Girls Poly. In 1959 she married Floyd W. Porter in Portland, Oregon. After Floyd's passing in 1978, Thelma later went on to marry Ocie Coleman Sr. She worked as a Teacher's Aide at Elliot Grade school for 17 years.

Thelma was a loving Mother of 5 children before becoming the Mother of her Church. Thelma was a Mother at Greater Faith Church in Portland, Oregon. She loved to play bingo, sing and play the organ.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, parents,son, Craig Porter, sister Rosetta Bryant and 1 Grandchild. She is survived by 4 daughters, Debra J. Porter of Of Portland, Oregon, Sarina Y. Porter of Portland, Oregon, Florence W. Stockton of Federal Way Washington, Ovia D. Ransom of Phoenix, Arizona, sisters, Ora B. Nunley of Portland, Oregon, Alice Clayton of Portland, Oregon, brothers, Mel Brown of Portland, Oregon and Roy Brown of Washougal Washington, 12 Grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren,

A Funeral Service will be held at Caldwell's, Hennessey, Goetsch & McGee Funeral Home on Friday, February 8th at 11:00AM.
