Viola, or "Flossie" as she came to be known, was born on December 10, 1924, in Kempton, North Dakota to parents Carl G. Bentley and Laura (Peterson).
Flossie graduated from Larimore High School in Larimore, North Dakota. She married Delmer G. Crawford in Larimore, North Dakota in 1944.
In her employed life, she worked as a clerk for General Telephone Beaverton in Beaverton, Oregon. She retired in 1976.
Flossie and her husband Delmer moved to Garibaldi, Oregon following her retirement from General Telephone in 1976 to own and operate Tillo Bay Motel. They operated the motel until 1980.
Flossie's interests and hobbies included oil painting, crochet, bowling, and quilting.
Flossie passed away at home in Beaverton on Wednesday, April 21, 2010. She was 85.
Survivors include her daughters; Dona Roughton, Vicki Roedel, Julie May, Mary Mullett; son Darryl Crawford; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her sisters; Helen Clifton and Cora Byrnes; and her brother Vernon Bentley.
A Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 PM in Skyline Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, April 26, 2010.
Private interment will take place in Skyline Memorial Gardens, Garden of Good Shepherd.
