Wallace Hicks Sr.

Wallace Hicks Sr. passed away at the age of 80 on March 18, 2011 at his granddaughters home under the loving care of his many sons, daughters, and grandchildren. Wallace was also visited by close friends from various congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Wallace was born March 4, 1931 in Gulfport, Mississippi to Mrs Trudie and Mr. Oscar Hicks Sr. He was the third of nine children. His twin brother succeeded him in death.

Wallace met his future wife at 11 years old. They married in September 1949 and had 13 children: Wallace Hicks Jr., Henrietta Browning, Sharline Mines (deceased), Amella Edwards, Bricella Hicks, Zerelda Aliano, Gladys ruth Hicks, Eunice Tally, Susie Perry, Jonathan Hicks, ronald Hicks (deceased), Lorenzo Hicks and Derrick Hicks.

Wallace was baptized in 1950 and was a Long Shoreman by trade working hard to provide spiritually, emotionally, and materially for his family. He moved his family to Portland, Oregon in 1972 and derived great pleasure in making those around him laugh.

We greatly miss his warm sense of humor and hugs but look forward to the hope of seeing him again in paradise on earth.
