Walter was born in Portland, Oregon. He is survived by his children; Steve Gilroy (Kelly), Denise Olsen, Mark Gilroy (Jenny), Grandchildren; Eric Gilroy (Karissa), Dani Olsen, Sarah Gilroy, Drew Gilroy. Walter was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Doris Theresa Gilroy. A funeral will be held at Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at 9:00am. Military honors and burial at Willamette National Cemetery will follow at 11:00am.
