Jim Bolt was born December 4th, 1933 to William T. Bolt and Sciesta Lilivon (O'Neal) Bolt in Glenwood, Washington. He graduated from Glenwood High School in 1951. He entered the US Army in July of 1956 and transferred to the US Army Reserves in June of 1958, and completed his service commitment in June of 1962.
Jim married Linda Kuhnhausen, a hometown girl, on May 16th 1959. Both were living and working in Portland at the time. Jim joined his brother Roy at ABC Roofing in 1958. They went on to acquire together McDonald & Wetle, Inc. and General Sheet Metal.
In December of 1966, Jim and Linda moved to the top of Mt Scott, Happy Valley, where they built their home and lives until 2017.
Jim was a member of the Ross Island Earlyrisers Kiwanis Club for over 45 years. He volunteered for numerous charities in the Portland area, including Meals on Wheels and the Children’s Course.
Jim is survived by his sisters Shirley Burrill and Lillian Andrig, children Carol Duncan (husband David), Greg Bolt, Tom Bolt (wife Alisha); grandchildren Marissa Lee, Grant Bolt, Spencer Bolt, Charli Bolt, Ashley Duncan, Randi Bolt, Jessi Bolt, and Rachel Bolt; six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was his wife Linda, brother Roy Bolt, and sisters Mary Ladiges, Helen Eaton, and Lilivon Godfrey.
A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 10:30 am at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, followed by a reception. Committal and Honors service at Willamette National Cemetery will be at 1 pm for family members.
Family suggest a donation to the Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp in lieu of flowers.
