Mrs. Annie Gert Adams

Mrs. Annie (Gert) Adams, age 86 of Potsdam, NY passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital surrounded by her family. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 10 a.m. with Msgr. Robert Aucoin celebrant. Burial will take place in the spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Potsdam. Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Service on Monday from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley. Annie is survived by her children James T. Calnon, Anna M. Ciadella, Phillip L. Adams and Bernie B. Adams Jr.; her brothers John and Vincent Maguire; sisters Rose Camp, Mary Wood and Irene Bronson; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband of 51 years Bernard B. Adams Sr.; a brother Patrick Maguire and a sister Viola Bronson.

Gert Adams was born on September 8, 1926 in Iroquois, Ontario, Canada to the late Patrick and Mary Kavanagh Maguire. She was married to Bernard on October 14, 1961. Bernard just passed away on October 31, 2012. Gert worked at the New York Telephone Company and for the Clarkson University Food Services. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Potsdam for over 70 years. She was very proud of her Irish heritage. She enjoyed gardening, working and her family.
