Helen P. Barstow

Helen was born January 10, 1923 in Pierrpont, NY the daughter of the late Bower and Anna Forward Powers. She graduated from Knox Memorial. She then went to work as a secretary at Alcoa in Massena until she became the devoted wife of Robert H Barstow Sr. They married on September 20, 1942 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Massena. Robert passed away on February 17, 2013. She was a past member of Potsdam Order of Eastern Stars, and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Potsdam.

Mrs. Barstow is survived by her son Robert H and Denise Barstow Jr. of Cranberry Lake, grandchildren; Rechell Barstow of New Jersey, Amanda and Brad Reif of Canton, William and Christine Barstow of Rowlett Texas, and Rebecca and Tom Barnes of Plattsburg; along with her great grandchildren; Kyle, Alex, Chase, Adrianna, Zoey and Mia, a brother Bower and Jane Powers of Canton along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Helen is predeceased by brothers; John, Robert and Gale Powers and sisters; Ruth Anderson and Betty Jean LaPoint.
