A celebration of life for Kimberly S. Kniepkamp, 58, of Sandfordville, NY will be held in Ohio at a later date. Kimberly passed away peacefully on Monday, February 7, 2022, at her home with her loving husband Jan by her side.
Kimberly was born on June 16, 1963, in Ridley Park, PA, a daughter of Ralph and Patricia (Palm) Kniepkamp. She moved to Wadsworth, OH in her younger years and graduated from Wadsworth High School. She continued her education at The Ohio State University with an undergraduate degree in Genetics and started her master’s program at the University of Houston. She met her husband Jan Trybula at The Ohio State University over 40 years ago, and they married on March 19, 1988, in Cleveland, OH.
After leaving the University of Houston, she began to work at bookstores, and they remained an interest throughout her lifetime. Bookstores on or close to university campuses sparked a special interest, because of the variety of people she would have conversations with, such as students and professors. Before leaving the bookstore business, she lastly worked at the SUNY Potsdam bookstore, working at the beginning of the semesters to assist students with their textbook purchases.
Kimberly greatly enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens, planting vegetable gardens around her property and landscaping flower beds of annuals, perennials, and wildflowers. In addition, she appreciated reading books on science fiction and fantasy, but read a variety of books as a whole.
She is survived by her husband Jan Trybula; a sister Lori (Jeffery) Funderburk; nephews Richard Szczepinski, Joshua Funderburk, and Zachary Funderburk; nieces Shannon (Jacob) Ranta and Brianna Funderburk; and her father Ralph Kniepkamp.
She was predeceased by her mother Patricia and a nephew Christopher Olszewski.
