Born August 22, 1956 in Potsdam, NY Michele spent the majority of her life residing in the North Country. She was a woman who lived a simple life, yet chose to make sure those around her did not. Her love was felt and will be remembered by many as her biggest passion was to make sure others were happy and taken care of. She was known by all as Mickie, but we called her Mama and Nanny......hearing those names called she was and will always be there for us. Mom's enjoyment in life came from her family, who were also her closest friends. After work and on her way home she would often be seen on the front porch of her Aunt Susie's sharing stories with her and her cousin and sidekick for life Joey Beard, only to be able to go home and spend time with her dogs and loving companion Dan Ryan.....most likely re-watching a cartoon or movie that she had shared with her grandkids. Her mornings and nights started and ended with a simple text message to tell us good morning and good night, reminding us of how much she loved us. This is a tradition that we will keep alive in her memory. Mom and Nan, we love and miss you so much but take comfort that you are reunited with Pa. Rest now, we will all be together again.
Died July 27, 2024 her passing was sudden and not expected, however many of those closest to her were able to be there when she left us. Michele is predeceased by her father Richard Young, but her mother Sally Stevens (Morse-Young) was by her side in the end. Michele is survived by her children, Joe Waite and Jennifer Thomas, both residing in Potsdam......along with her biggest joy, her grandkids, Abby Thomas, Emma Thomas, Josie Willard, Jackson and Isabelle Waite, all of Potsdam. She is survived by seven brothers and sisters, who she loved dearly: Victoria Strack (Potsdam), Jackie Bjork (Potsdam), Patty Frederick (Potsdam), Richard Young (Texas), Mike Young ( Mexico, NY), Chris Young (Liverpool), John Miller (Mountain Top, PA). To her Brother-in-laws, Sister-in-laws, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and so many Nieces and Nephews, please know that Mom loved you all dearly.....some even got their own pies during holidays.....cherish her memory, and know that there is nothing that she would not do for any of us. Michele is also predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Fred and Francis Morse, along with her paternal grandparents, William and Mary Young.....we know they are reunited again.
