Robert T. Farnsworth Sr.

Mr. Robert T. Farnsworth Sr. age 66 of Potsdam, NY passed away on November 16th at his residence in the village of Potsdam. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 19th at the Garner Funeral Service from 2-4 and 7-9. Graveside service will be held at a later date at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Potsdam, NY. Contributions in his memory can be made to the Potsdam Volunteer Fire Department or to the Center for Cancer Care at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital.

Robert is survived by his wife Alice Farnsworth; mother Harriett Farnsworth; sons Robert T. (Tammy) Farnsworth Sr., Jason (Jessica) Farnsworth and Chris Farnsworth; brothers Mike, Jack and Joe Farnsworth; sisters Sandy Adams and Sue Farnsworth; 13 grandkids and several nieces and nephews. Robert is predeceased by his father Lloyd Farnsworth and his brother William Farnsworth.

Robert was born January 25, 1949 in Tupper Lake, NY to Lloyd Farnsworth and Harriett Henderson. He was a 1968 graduate of Potsdam Central School. On August 11, 1978 he was married to Alice Keleher. Robert worked as a Corrections Officer for 17 years retiring from the Gouverneur Correctional Facility in 2007. Robert enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Nascar, hunting and fishing.
