Mr. Scott A. Goolden, age 52, of Mableton, GA and formerly of Potsdam, NY passed away peacefully at his sister's residence in Potsdam, NY on May 7, 2019. Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Service on Friday, May 10th from 4:30 – 8:00pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 11th at noon at St. Mary's Church with Rev. Stephen Rocker celebrant. Burial will follow the service at Bayside Cemetery in Potsdam. Condolences can be shared online @www.garnerfh.com. Scott A. Goolden was born on March 6, 1967 in Potsdam, NY to Vern and Mary Goolden. He was a 1985 graduate of Potsdam Central High School. He graduated from SUNY Canton in 1987 with an Associate’s degree in Business Administration. He then went to work for the First National Bank of Norfolk. He later went on to a successful corporate career. He worked for GFox in Hartford, CT from 1989-1992 in Collections Corporate Reporting. In 1993 he began working for Filenes in Boston, MA in the same capacity until 2001. While still in Boston, he was employed by Dana-Farber as a financial analyst from 2001-2005. In 2005 he began working at K & G Fashion Superstore as their Merchandise Planner in Atlanta, GA. Later that year, he signed on with Macy’s in Dunwoody, GA as a Senior Business Analyst. He was relocated to NYC where he worked as a Planner, then returned to GA in 2010. In 2011, he was hired by Home Depot as a Senior Business Analyst in their corporate offices in Atlanta, GA.
Scott knew what was most important in life, and that was his family and friends whom he loved very much. He had a zest for life and lived life to its absolute fullest. He had a huge heart and would do anything for anybody. He was witty and was known for his sass and sarcasm. He had a smile that would light up any room. Scott enjoyed traveling, sitting on his back porch with his friends and his dog Jasper sipping on a glass of wine and hanging out by the pool or the ocean enjoying the sun. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
Scott is survived by his mother Mary Goolden; a sister Lisa (Randy) Cardinal and a niece and a nephew Breanna and Jason Cardinal. He is predeceased by his father Vern Goolden.
