Timothy MacGilfrey Sr.

Timothy MacGilfrey (Mac), age 65, a beloved family member, left us on May 24, 2026 at the Canton Potsdam Hospital. He was born on November 18, 1960 in Albany, New York, as the son of Dora Klose-Poutre and Thomas MacGilfrey.

Mac had a heart full of joy for many things, whether it was casting a line in the river, hitting the greens with a new set of clubs, rolling a bowling ball, or simply spending time with his loved ones. He also found great satisfaction in his work as a carpenter, painter and handyman.

Mac is remembered by his children: Timothy (Kyle) MacGilfrey, Lydia (Emilio) MacGilfrey, Kylee (Marcus) Donnelly and Kit (Raven) Donnelly. He also has a stepson, Ashley Malak. Mac is also survived by his mother Dora Klose-Poutre.

His siblings include Thomas MacGilfrey, Dora Lee (Hector) Forbes, Carrie Ann (Rick) Secore, Simone Poutre (Shannon) Smith, Kimberly MacGilfrey, Edward MacGilfrey, Patty Guillbeault and Tina Palermieri as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mac is also survived by his companion Linda Brown.

Mac is predeceased by his father Thomas MacGilfrey and his brother Walter Secore.

Following his wishes, there will be no services, instead, a celebration of life will be held at later date. Arrangements for cremation are with the Garner Funeral Service where condolences can be shared at www.garnerfh.com.
