Evelyn J. Doty

Evelyn was born on May 17, 1929 in Prattsburgh, NY, the daughter of the late Albert and Hester (Cook) Allis. She graduated from Prattsburgh Central School in 1946. She worked in the medical records department at Strong Memorial Hospital and for Westinghouse in Bath. Evelyn was also an important part of the dairy farm that she and her husband, George, owned. George and Evelyn were both huge supporters of Prattsburgh Central School Athletics. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and square dancing. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Charles Allis; nephew, Ronald Allis; cousins, Doris Holmes and Margaret Johnson; and her brother-in-law, Albert E. Peterson.

Evelyn Jean is survived by her loving and devoted husband, George Doty; nephew, Terry (Mary) Allis and family; cousins, Ruth Metz, Joyce Davis, and Nelson Cook; nephews-in-law, Mark (Joann) Peterson and family, and Eric Peterson and family; niece, Ellen Wakker and family; and sister-in-laws, June Allis and Geraldine Peterson.

Friends and family may call on Friday, November 4th from 4pm to 6pm and Saturday, November 5th from 11am to 1pm at the Bottoni-Wood Funeral Home, 4 Mechanic St., Prattsburgh, where a memorial service celebrating her life will be on Saturday at1 pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Pulteney Fire Dept., the Pulteney Ambulance Dept., the Prattsburgh Fire Dept. or Ambulance Dept.
