Clarence Winford Davis

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Friday at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel followed by his funeral service at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mike Ingram officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Hill Cemetery in Autaugaville, Alabama.

Mr. Davis was born July 19, 1938 in Jemison, Alabama to the late Herman Hobson Davis, Sr. and Redemer Elsie Blackman Davis. As a young man he worked in the logging and timber industry and later had a career as a ductwork installer in the commercial – residential air conditioning and heating field.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and other outdoor activities.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rose Respess Davis, a son; Kenneth Respess, two sisters; Ruby Rich, Hazel Smitherman, three brothers; Herman Davis, Jr., Bobby Davis and Sydney Davis.

He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law; Mary and Darrell Joiner of Coosada, Edith and Ron Garrett of Maplesville; a son and daughter –in –law, Bill and Joan Respess of Millbrook;daughter-in-law; Jacqulyn Respess of Equality, a sister; Ann Davis Bigger of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; three brothers and sisters-in-law; James and Janette Davis of Millbrook, Donald and Jewel Davis of Montgomery, Thomas and Elaine Davis of Slapout and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members.
