

VOSS, Clyde Buren, 92, went to be with the Lord on August 18, 2011. He was born on August 20, 1919 to Jasper and Annie Voss in Clay County, AL, and lived in Prattville, AL. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was privileged to participate on the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. He accepted Christ as his Savior at Grace Baptist Temple in Prattville, AL on April 7, 1973, and served the Lord faithfully. At the time of his home-going, he was a member of Heritage Baptist Church under the direction of Pastor Roger Parks. He retired from the Civil Service at Maxwell Air Force Base. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, two brothers, Aaron and Lauree, and sister, Blanche, and he is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ethel Voss; sons, Missionary Wayne (Barbara) Voss and Pastor Jim (Denise) Voss; daughters, Jeannie (Jerry) Peacock and Sonja (John) Story; brothers, Buford (Ruth) Voss and Ray (Mary Edith) Voss; sister, Moulene Brown; sister-in-law, Ellen Voss. Clyde and Ethel have 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at Ridout’s Funeral Home in Prattville, AL Monday, August 22, 2011 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Roger Parks and Pastor Lamar Reaves officiating. Visitation will be Monday at the funeral home from 12:30 PM until service time. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens Cemetery with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Ashley Peacock, Vince Pabalate, Matt Mellown, Greg Johnson, Riley Henson, Mark Voss and Phillip Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Erby Dobbs, Bob Parolini, Dr. Charles Cloutier, Emily Cloutier, Betty Cummins, and Ron St .Laurent. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Missionary Wayne Voss and sent to Baptist International Missions, Inc., Account # 515, P.O. Box 9215 Chattanooga, TN 37412. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Prattville Health and Rehab, Baptist Hospital East nursing staff, Dr. Garrett and Dr. Hamlett, the Prayer Room and Joy Sunday School class of Eastmont Baptist Church, all his friends and their prayers from Heritage Baptist Church and everyone who visited, prayed for him and sat with him during his illness.
