

Marion Daniel “Dan” Howell, of Verbena, passed away February 5, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Bessie Mae Howell; siblings, Evelyn, Elvin, Mary and Esther. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth Howell; children, Danny Howell, Jenice McMillan and Carl Howell (Jennifer); and sister, Josephine Moncrief (Bill). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Crystal Howell and Lauren Knight (Jeremy); great grandchildren Laniyah Howell and Kamora Howell whom loved their papaw very much and Cameron Knight.
Dan loved spending time with his family, camping, fishing and hunting. He loved to make you laugh while pulling pranks on you. He worked hard his whole life and always helped those in need. He loved being in his shop fixing things, and occasionally he was fixing a Wire for Paper Mills from all over the US, Canada, Mexico. He also loved Alabama Football! He loved his job. Dan worked for Appleton Wire 37 years before starting his own business Howells Plastic Wire Repair Service in 1995 until 2020.
Services for Mr. Howell will be Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Ridouts Prattville Chapel. Visitation will be from 12:30 - 1:00 PM at Ridouts Prattville Chapel. Burial will follow at Shoal Creek Cemetery in Deatsville, Alabama. Pallbearers will be Jay, Jeffrey, Josh, Amanda, from the Verbena Volunteer Fire Department and also Dennis Hill and Greg Ward. Rev. John Coburn will officiate the service.
The family would like to thank Regina Harris and Matthew Dodson and the entire hospice group for all their loving help during Dan's illness.
