Darrell Maurice Joiner, 64, of Coosada, passed away Saturday March 10, 2018. Visitation was held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday March 12th at the Millbrook Baptist Church, 3431 Browns Road, Millbrook, Alabama 36054. A Celebration of Life service was held Tuesday at 11:00 AM from Millbrook Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Ingram officiating. Burial followed in Rocky Hill Cemetery in Autaugaville, AL.
Mr. Joiner was born in Montgomery on April 28, 1953 to the late Aaron Joiner and Bertha Hunter Joiner. He was the owner/operator of Rick’s Trim Shop in Prattville for 40 years. He enjoyed Alabama Football and was active in the sport of auto racing from 1982 to 2017. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Randy Joiner.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Mary; two sons and daughters in law, Keith and Renee Joiner, Kevin and Stephanie Joiner; five grandchildren, Brittany, Hunter, Skylar, Michael and Rece; two great grandchildren, Cooper and Mary Jessie; a brother and sister in law, Kenneth and Ann Joiner; a sister and brother in law, Diane and Randy Dunn; a brother in law, Bill Respess and his wife, Joan; a sister in law, Edith Garrett and her husband Ron and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.
Active pallbearers were Lee Hammett, Frank Simersky, Charles Smith, Kenny Barrett, Steven Garrett, Skylar Strength, Michael Joiner and Ken Respess.
Honorary pallbearers were Kenny Dale Respess and Rece Joiner.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
