

She was born on February 1, 1929, in Hamden, New York, to Emmit Earl and Leona Marion (Engert) Scofield. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert; and four brothers; Robert, George, Paul and Donald Scofield.
She married Hubert Maurice Brink of Walton, New York, on April 13, 1951, in Sacramento, California, where he was stationed in the United States Air Force. They moved multiple times while in the Air Force and resided in Prattville, Alabama when Hugh retired while stationed at Maxwell AFB in Montgomery. They had three children; Robert (Debbie), Deborah (Tom), and David (Suzanne).
She is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh and oldest son Robert. She leaves behind 2 children, Debby and Dave, 6 grandchildren; Chris, Shannon, Chad, Jeremy, Brittany and Brian, 10 Great-grandchildren; Skye, Jonah, Annie, Haley, Ethan, Carter, Jackson, Cooper, Kade and Sawyer, and 4 great-great-grandchildren; Aspen, Cameron, Meredith and Maggie.
She was very active in her Prattville community and church serving as Project chairman and Vice President of the Prattville Service League; at the United Methodist Church of Prattville, serving on the Mission Board, helping with Vacation Bible School and serving as an Adult Coordinator for several years. She was also president of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at the Prattville Hospital, she helped with pre-school clinics for Prattville Elementary School, volunteered at the Prattville Nursing Home, Den leader for Cub Scout Den 11 and worked with Boy Scout Troop 111 and Girl Scout Troop 140. Her greatest and most rewarding work was with the American Red Cross out at Maxwell Air Force Base. She also served 34 years at the Surgical Clinic and also assisted with Blood Mobiles and worked with Vietnam Veterans returning from the war. She was awarded the Irma Bentley Moore volunteer of the year award of Central Alabama in 1999.
She enjoyed painting and was quite the artist, gardening, needlework and baking, especially pies. In retirement she and Hugh were snowbirds and spent their summers back home in their beloved NY village of Walton.
An amazing woman who lived an amazing life.
A service for Doris will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 2:30pm with a visitation until 4:00pm at Ridout's Prattville Chapel. Burial will follow at a later date in New York.
