Elsie Elizabeth Carter

CARTER, Elsie Elizabeth, age 88, a resident of Prattville, AL passed away Monday, October 7, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Q. Carter and a very special son-in-law, Luke Granthum. Survivors include one daughter, Peggy Granthum; three sons, Roger, Terry and Ron Carter; six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother A. J. Traywick, Jr.; a very special friend, Jean Smith. The family extends their thanks to the staff of Prattville Health & Rehab for the loving care shown to Mrs. Carter and all the family. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be Friday, October 11, 2013 from Bethel Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Doug Powell officiating. Mrs. Carter will lie in state at the church from 9:30 AM until service time. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Carter, Mike Carter, Craig Carter, Dale Carter Dane Carter, Brandon Carter Brian Carter and John Lawrence. Mrs. Carter was a long time active member of Bethel Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School teacher, choir member, served with the WMU plus many other ministries. Memorial contributions can be made to the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, County Road 16, Jones, Alabama.
